Knowledge is Power
Faced with some new system, or piece of technology, it’s all too easy to struggle along trying to find your own way, or rely on the limited view of those already using it. That’s fine, but sometimes it’s good to give yourself a leg-up in the form of some proper training. You will learn a broader view of the system, and probably discover smarter ways of doing things.
Time out of the office for face to face training is hard to match in terms of effectiveness, but it’s the most expensive way in terms of direct costs, and time away from the demands of your job. Self-paced course manuals, or e-learning gives you a great alternative, that fits around your other priorities. All I will say is that you still must give your self some clear space and time to do this – to learn and practise the skills.
